Happy spring gang!

Just finished trailer rebuild, new wheel bearings, new LED light kit, the trailer has 10 lights now and looks like a semi trailer in the dark

The bunks and hardware were rusted and rotted so I replace all that as well... I'll post some pics up soon...

::OS:: looking forward to fishing !

I've seen this thread a bunch of times, always appreciate the work you did...its awesome.

I have 2 JL 6.5"s underneath where you put your speakers (where you have rod holders). I plan on swapping them out with 7.7"s....but still want more.

I like your idea with the subwoofer in the front storage. Does it get wet in there? Can you still store items in there? Kind of nervous about water intrusion.

Any other spots you can think about to put the 6.5s once I do the swap?

Thanks!

Yes I store docking ropes and sometimes towels. Soft things mainly.

I've never had any issues with water. The stock drain is still functional in case I stuff the bow......

I thought about speakers on the step of casting deck facing toward stern, but didn't want to deal with running the speaker cable.

My 3 speaker system sounds fine to me... I've had far more extensive audio setups but this cranks nicely  The tweeters are pointing down slightly at the gunnels, they seem to reflect better then if aimed up or straight out...

Thanks for the info, Bear. I'm not going to mess with that storage because I need it. I go offshore and on the reef a lot, I need all the storage I can get.

I've decided to just go with 2 JL 7.7" and power them with an amp...that should be plenty of power with both speakers running at 100w RMS.

Thanks Bear, Any problem with it grabbing air, in a chop? Looking at the pictures of the TM and the Garmin unit, it looks like the shaft is resting on top of the Garmin?

In heavy chop it's grabbed air a few times. I would have gone with 60" but wasn't an option with 12v motor. Shaft in storage position does clear the Garmin by a few inches...

how hard was it to buff out the stripe along where it would have faded and what did you use to get it off a heat gun? im new to the forum just picked up a 2004 23cc bluewater and I want to take off the stripe and the KEY WEST in big letters on the side.

Hi

buffing the boat out just takes time and care so you don't burn through the gel especially around corners. I used a product call Finesse from 3M and a professional buffer (not sure what bonnet I used?)

The stripes were removed with a hair dryer and took some time and patience.

Good luck!
